Guide To Building The Best Charcuterie Board

Whether you're hosting for the holidays or simply snacking with friends, a great charcuterie board is all about balancing texture, flavor, and color.  Here's how to build one that looks as good as it tastes!

INGREDIENTS:

Start with the essentials:

  • Top Seedz Crackers: Choose from Sea Salt, 6-Seed, Rosemary or Cumin, in Rectangles, Circles, or your own Bake-At-Home shapes!
  • Cheeses: Include a variety of soft (brie or goat), semi-soft (gouda or Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog Blue Cheese), or hard (manchego or parmesan chunks).
  • Cured Meats: prosciutto, salami, or soppressata
  • Sweets & Savories: Figs, pears, dried apricots, olives
  • Nuts & Seeds: Candied walnuts, chocolate covered cashews
  • Condiments: Honey, jam, hummus (our favorite is Ithaca Hummus Lemon & Beet)
  • Extras: Rosemary sprig or pomegranate seeds

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1: Choose Your Board

Pick your base: rustic wood for a natural look or sleek marble for a modern vibe. One large showstopper or several smaller boards both make for easy sharing.

Step 2: Place Your Dips First

Set down your dips and spreads before anything else. Pro tip: colorful dips like Lemon Beet hummus double as edible décor!

Step 3: Add Your Cheeses

Mix textures and flavors — creamy brie, sharp cheddar, or something unexpected. Pre-slice a few pieces and leave wedges whole with small knives.

Step 4: Layer in the Crackers

Now for the star — Top Seedz Crackers! Mix up shapes and flavors for variety. Our 6-Seed crackers are a grain-free crowd favorite, and Rosemary adds that fragrant pop. Bake-At-Home cutouts? Always the first to disappear.

Step 5: Add Your Meats

Fold or roll two to three varieties — one mild, one spicy — for color and texture.

Step 6: Fill in With Sweets & Savories

Tuck fruit, olives, nuts, and dried bites into open spots for a mix of flavor and freshness in every bite.

Step 7: Finish with Garnishes

Top it off with rosemary sprigs, thyme, pomegranate seeds, or a hint of dark chocolate to pull it all together.

Step 8: Enjoy!!

Now the only thing left to do is enjoy! Good food, good company, and your perfectly balanced board.

PRO TIP:

  • Mix textures and flavors (creamy, salty, sweet, and crunchy) for a board that keeps guests coming back.
  • Refresh halfway through if hosting a crowd. Fresh fruit and crackers keep the board vibrant.
