To celebrate Women’s History Month, we sat down with four incredible women on our team to hear their stories and their advice to young women.

Kristen Perez | QC Manager

Kristen’s favorite part of working at Top Seedz is being part of a small company that continues to grow everyday. New team members. New challenges. Constant change.

She grew up in Buffalo, NY, where her dad managed the same retail store his entire career. From him, she learned what a strong work ethic really looks like.

The word that drives her? Family. Everything she does is for them.

Food that feels like home: her favorite lasagna recipe.

Her advice to young women: Don’t settle for the job you hate.

When Kristen started at Top Seedz, Quality Control was a one-person department, just her. Today, she leads a team of seven.

Farida Hussain Ali | Production Associate

Farida grew up in Jaghori, Afghanistan. Her religion guides her life and work.

Her favorite part of the job? She takes pride in making sure every product is properly labeled and meets our standards.

The word she loves in her native language is جانم meaning soul or my dear. A word used with warmth.

Food that feels like home: bread. Anywhere.

Her advice to young women: Always keep learning.

She’s proud to be part of a company that provides fresh, organic food in a positive environment.

Birhan Abreha | Team Lead

Birhan grew up in Eritrea, East Africa, and lives by a simple rule: do good to anybody, anytime, anywhere.

Her favorite part of the job is rolling, being hands-on in the process.

A word she values is ኣድንቅ meaning appreciate. She believes that recognizing hard work motivates people.

Food that feels like home: Ga’at, a thick porridge meant to be shared.

Her proudest achievement at Top Seedz: becoming a team leader through dedication and consistency.

Her advice to young women: Be strong no matter what happens. Be your authentic self. Be good to yourself and others.

Nasreen Opi | QC Junior Technician 

Nasreen grew up in Sudan with strong family values, hard work, and caring for elders.

Her favorite part of the job is product inspection, making sure everything meets standard.

The word she connects with most is Madi, identifying her tribe and heritage.

Food that feels like home: dried fish with sesame paste and sweet potatoes.

Her advice to young women: Work hard and take care of your family.

She’s proud to work at Top Seedz and values the flexibility the company offers women.
