Hip New Jersey - Rebecca Brady Makes it a Mission to Help
Top Seedz Cracker Founder Rebecca Brady Makes it a Mission to Help
Have you heard of Top Seedz? They are addicting, delicious crackers that are made of pumpkin, sesame, sunflower and flax seeds. These handmade crackers are the “chameleon of crackers” as they can be served with anything yet are filled with wholesome ingredients and yummy seeds that have a slew of good-for-you benefits.
Top Seedz are the creation of Rebecca Brady, a native New Zealander, who always baked the crackers to have on hand for her tennis tournaments. When she and her husband moved to New York, she started bringing them as hostess gifts and then started selling at Farmers Markets. As luck would have it, a buyer from Wegman’s grocery chain tasted one, and wanted Top Seedz in stores. Today, Top Seedz can now be found in Wegman’s, Whole Foods (certain regions) and independent markets throughout the United States.
Rebecca knows that luck and success have been on her side, and so she believes in paying it forward. Each of her employees is a female refugee (that’s Rebecca, pictured with a few of her employees at right). Hailing from diverse countries as Burundi, Somalia, Eritrean, Cabinda and Afghanistan, each of the 11 women have stories to tell, and have traveled through many countries in order to live a better life.
Headquartered in Buffalo, NY, Top Seedz is celebrating not only International Women’s Day, but a female that each of the employees has chosen. From their mothers, sisters to Kamala Harris and Malala Yousafzai, together they are educating one another and telling their stories in order to fight for women’s rights and their freedom.
