Get outside, get active, and get involved.
So much has been happening in the world, even in our own backyard, and it’s bringing out in me—even more so—a need to get involved in my community. I feel it’s important to give back to the people and places that make up the place you call home, which is why I make it a point to choose a few organizations that I know are working hard to make a real difference to support in some way.
One charity I’ve chosen to get involved with, year after year, is the Ride for Roswell. Each year I invite my family, friends, and all the employees at Top Seedz to participate. This ‘ride for a cure’ directly impacts the people in our community, and there’s no greater feeling than giving back to the people and places around you. This event is just one example of how you can get outside, get active and get involved!
I think this desire to help and give is part of our natural need for balance, and to spread a little love and kindness into the world. It’s a reminder to take a step back from the day-to-day routine, from the 9-to-5, and take time to connect as people. Whether it’s putting items together for a donation, volunteering, or sponsoring an activity or event that you know will have a positive impact on others, any and all efforts help spread positivity.
There’s no prescription for how to be caring, just do it. Discover what it is you’re passionate about and find a way to support it. At Top Seedz, we just sponsored a court at 716 Squash, an organization that empowers local youth to reach their full potential. If you’re feeling the urge to give back, make the time to do so. Get out there, join friends and family and feel good about doing good!
