Feeling Thankful

Kia ora!

Being from New Zealand, Thanksgiving wasn’t a holiday I grew up celebrating, but gosh am I SO thankful I do now! It’s become one of my favorite holidays to entertain and celebrate with family and friends—what’s not to love about eating tons of delicious food, taking time to be grateful for all you have, and spending time with loved ones? Of course, another thing I love about this holiday is that my son Caleb is home from college. We absolutely make the most of this special time together.

Each year we start the day by running the Turkey Trot (please don’t snow!!), then slow roll into our Thanksgiving feast with a little grazing board around noon—it’s the perfect opportunity for picky foods! Then it’s time to gear up for the main course around 3 or 4 p.m., and we get completely into the celebration with fun New Zealand touches like a pavlova to finish with! But this year, we have an extra special treat: the Bills play on Thanksgiving day. I don’t know about you, but I’d be extra thankful for a win!
