Eat Well, Live Well:
Simple Steps
for Earth Day

Kia Ora! Every year, Earth Day reminds us to think about the impact we have on the planet—and one of the simplest ways we can help is through the food we eat.
Growing up in New Zealand with a vegetable garden, I learned that fresh, homegrown food didn’t need much to be delicious. Later, living in Japan for 10 years, I experienced another approach to eating that reinforced the same idea: simple, whole foods are best. Recently, I met the team behind Blue Zone Meals, co-founded by Dan Buettner, the longevity expert, and it was another great reminder — fresh, natural, and unprocessed— is the foundation of a long, healthy life.
So, what’s the big takeaway? Turns out, it’s pretty simple:
✅ Plant-Based, Whole Foods Diet – Fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds (yes, seeds—told you we were onto something).
✅ Healthy Fats – Olive oil, nuts, and omega-rich foods are key staples.
✅Community & Connection – Eating together, socializing, and maintaining strong relationships. (my kids tell me to put away my phone at the table!)
✅ Daily Movement – Walking, gardening, and staying physically active in natural ways. Good news—this doesn’t mean signing up for an ultra-marathon, unless you really want to.
✅ Mindful Living – Less stress, more purpose, and prioritizing happiness.
At Top Seedz, we embrace this approach. Our crackers and snacks are made from real, whole ingredients that support an active, balanced life. Earth Day is a perfect time to remind ourselves that eating well doesn’t have to be complicated—it’s about keeping things simple, enjoying good food, and making choices that are good for both us and the planet.
So, this Earth Day, let’s celebrate by making choices that are good for both our health and the environment. Maybe that means swapping out processed snacks for whole, seed-based options, or choosing more plant-based meals. Or maybe it just means remembering to bring your reusable bags to the store for once. However you do it, know that these little steps can lead to a longer, healthier life!
Cheers to living well, eating well and hopefully sticking around long enough to see some positive change.

Rebecca
